Action Ideas & Wishlist — What should SmartMotion do after selecting a target?

SmartMotion separates the how of finding a target from the what you want to do once it’s selected. This thread is for brainstorming action modules — the final step after a hint is selected.

Below are some existing and planned actions. Please add your own ideas or upvote ones you’d love to see!

Current Actions:

• jump – moves the cursor to the target
• jump_centered – jumps and centers screen on target
• yank – copies text from current cursor to target
• yank_line – yanks the full line containing the target
• delete – deletes from cursor to target
• change – deletes then enters insert mode
• restore - moves the cursor back to its original position. Used to create remote motions when merged with things like "jump" and "delete"

Planned Actions

goto_file - treats the target as a file name to go to.
