Remove/deprecate implicit parameters?

Given that there are problems with implicit parameters and that other packages are using explicit ones, should we consider removing them?

A good first step would be to deprecate the implicit params interface in a minor release. That should give a good idea of how large the change would be.

What I suspect is that changes will be limited to the public interface (and related tests), because Zygote still uses the underlying machinery behind implicit params for handling mutable structs etc.
