Failed to verify SSL: Can not validate challenge for domain xyz.com

Hi everyone,
I'm using a letsencrypt wild card certificate which is expired. I tried to renew it using the " sudo ee site ssl domain.com" but I get the following error message:
"Failed to verify SSL: Can not validate challenge for domain xyz.com " even though both TXT records for the acme challenge are verified.
Is there a solution to fix this? I really appreciate your help.
