Blacklist codes

Im currently running the program for backup codes, does it blacklist the codes that don't work?

There's no such feature in the program for that. But it has been suggested before.

I'm not really sure what the best way to implement it would be either.

So you're saying that the program has no implementation of testing unique values? I'm reading line #188 in backend.py, is this not writing the tested 8-digit codes to a file?
I see there's no implementation of that of the sort for the 6-digit auth code, and it would probably become slow iterating a .txt file. Have you considered saving a dict with pickle?

Sorry, I overlooked something. I assumed that pickle had a method to use the dictionary without loading it all into memory, like memory-mapping. This is unfortunately not the case. An alternative would be using python shelve, documented here: https://docs.python.org/3/library/shelve.html.

Ah, I also didn't realize the 6-digit code refreshes every 30-seconds, so it wouldn't matter. Makes sense why it's only implemented for 8-digit codes now.

so i could technically run 6 code forever and never get it 😭 maybe i should go with the 8 code version instead, it'll be longer to run for sure, but it's at least guaranteed to find one that works

8 digit code will be guaranteed to find a working code within a very very very long time. (Longer than the life of the universe. Yes, I checked. 36^8 seconds at MINIMUM)

6 digit code is a far better bet (10^6 seconds at MINIMUM, which is around 2 weeks time.
