Implementing MIV Text Editor onto my OS [Solved]

Im trying to implement MIV Text editor onto my OS. I have only one error, and that is "Kernel Does not have a definition for File" Here is the code:

            Console.WriteLine("Enter file's filename to open:");
            Console.WriteLine("If the specified file does not exist, it will be created.");
            Kernel.file = Console.ReadLine();
            try
            {
                if (File.Exists(@"0:\" + Kernel.file))
                {
                    Console.WriteLine("Found file!");
                }
                else if (!File.Exists(@"0:\" + Kernel.file))
                {
                    Console.WriteLine("Creating file!");
                    File.Create(@"0:\" + Kernel.file);
                }
                Console.Clear();

The original issue was wherever Kernel was mentioned, but i fixed that, opening the new error.

Does Kernel have a field or property file?

i figured it out yesterday, thanks for the help though :). i think i just prematurely asked the question before i could solve it myself
