Suggestion: Add an x in the search field (search box) to clear it

As per the title, I think it would be handy when using select/paste (middle click, in an X11 environment) vs copy/paste to avoid overwriting the selection buffer.

A nice and easy way to clear the search box, without having to do a backspace/delete or re-doing a select/paste if selecting the whole line to delete it.
