Features Unique to BingeHack

(also refers to features unique to our serving environment)

General Gameplay Changes

  • Monster aggression system is much more interesting and fits in-game lore better; elves will fight orcs, angels will fight demons, etc.
  • 3 new big rooms, 2 new castles (w/ interesting guaranteed items), 2 new Medusa lairs, and 19 new, more interesting, harder and unique Sokoban levels.
  • New artifact item: "The Ring of Power", aka the One Ring To Rule Them All from Tolkein lore. Excellently implemented, and well-gameplay-balanced, with a horrendous amount of TDTTOE; special effects for viewing it in fire (but only readable if you're a wizard), funny lava-throwing messages, plenty of Nazgul following you around to ruin your day, funny messages for throwing the ring into lava, etc. ** Note that as a side effect of this, Nazgul now see invisible.
  • A few new random names with parodying just as subtle as the originals for unidentified items (scrolls, shirts, etc)
  • An in-game and out-of-game achievements system that is millions of times more modern and extensive than the simple conduct achievements system. This feature is still being ported from the previous BingeHack.
  • 'Binge'-friendly features that make playing as a group all at the same time more fun. Live game monitoring, announcements of achievements and deaths and binge-specific high scores, rotating through watching other people's games, etc. These features are still being ported from the previous BingeHack.

CSH-Specific Changes

  • Tombstones are supplemented with cleverly poetic in-jokes as well as actual monuments to our friends since passed.
  • The Oracle (and associated oracle environment, fortunes, sounds, etc) has been replaced with our dear friend and former adviser, who acts as our real life Oracle, Potter.
  • Some of the new unidentified item names / shirts refer to in-jokes.
