Description
Task Description:
We need a method of safely transporting all of the bots and acrylic when we got to events (whether at the JSOM Chess Plaza or even outside of campus). Maybe you've noticed, but the bots take up a LOT of space, and are kinda unwieldy. This issue involves designing a method and proposing a BOM (Bill Of Materials) for it.
Implementation Steps:
We need some sort of cart that can hold the bots, and either a separate cart or integrated spot in the main cart to hold the acrylic
- You must first think up and design a rough draft of a method to safely and compactly hold bots. Come to me with this and we can debug it together
- Do the same for the acrylic. We will have 64 pieces and 32 bases, and need a method to safely store all of them without any chance of breaking
- After coming up with a rough draft and debugging it with me, you can start designing the full prototype
- Once the full prototype is designed, create a Bill of Materials for everything that would be needed to build it. We have access to machinery to cut wood and metal, so we likely won't have to pay for labor. We will just need to buy the raw material.
Additional Notes and Resources:
If you want to physically help build the cart/carrier, you need to have machine training. Either the Makerspace fab shop or by coming to train at the Richardson Machine Shop with us during Tuesdays and Thursdays
Expected Timeline:
This should take 2-3 weeks to start making the full prototype
