Discussion Platform

It has been suggested that Chemotion is backed by a discussion platform for users, admins and developers to discuss various aspects. The idea is to bring the community together so that people can help each-other. This is becoming increasingly important because we are

• growing larger in terms of user base, and,
• moving towards a domain-neutral solution -- that can be customized to become domain-specific (e.g. Generic elements) -- making it necessary to provide a platform where users from a domain can share their Chemotion-specific knowledge and solutions.

An ideal platform should allow:

• data portability (cross-platform and cross-site)
• be backupable
• (some form of) user authentication, but not onerous
• moderation
