Describe the bug
When I tried to update to 3.0 beta 6 from 2.4, the Bubble Card still shows 2.4 even with reloading. HACS page confirms I'm on 3.0 beta 6, resources confirms hacstag=6801129193006. But it's still the same 2.4 card in my dashboard. Ironically if I download any of the other 3.0 betas, they work fine, except they have the broken Select problem.

To Reproduce

I'm having a very confusing experience... I'm on 2.4 and wanted to update to 3b6 to get my select dropdowns back.

So I went to HACS, hit redownload, selected 3b6, reloaded... and nothing happened.

The HACS page says I'm on 3b6, but the Select still doesn't work and when I edit via gui, the badge still says 2.4.

I then deleted the Bubble-Card folder from /community, confirm my dash shows Bubble Card is missing.

I redownload, HACS page says 3b6, /resources says hacstag=6801129193006.

I reload browser, cards come back, but I'm back on 2.4 again, according to the GUI (and dropdowns don't work again, confirming this).

This actually doesn't happen on the other 3.0 betas for some reason; only on 3b6. Obviously this isn't workable for me since only 3b6 fixes the dropdown issue.

Expected behavior
Downloading 3.0 beta 6 from 2.4 should upgrade my Bubble Card accordingly.

Informations (please complete the following information):

  • OS: [e.g. iOS]
  • Browser/App: [e.g. chrome, safari]
  • Bubble Card version: 2.4 > 3.0 beta 6
  • Home Assistant version: 2025.5.1

Additional context
Add any other context about the problem here.

Thank you! 🍻

Hi! This issue has just been fixed today by the HACS dev!

For now, this solution seems to work:

https://community.home-assistant.io/t/bubble-card-a-minimalist-card-collection-for-home-assistant-with-a-nice-pop-up-touch/609678/2668?u=cloos

And here is the HACS issue if you're interested:

Just noting I have the same issue here.

HACS shows that I have 3.0 beta 6 installed

Image

However, the actual dashboard shows 2.4 (and my dropdowns don't work, which suggests that is true)

Image

I'm not getting the issue that is reported by others around the error message 'does not exist' but I have tried the various troubleshoot steps that have been suggested in a few threads and none of them have helped

Hopefully the latest HACS update does something but just adding some more detail to the issue in case it's helpful

I really can't wait for the HACS update 😅

Just noting here that I somehow got it to work! Unfortunately I was trying a bunch of things and I'm not 100% confident on what specific set of actions worked, but one thing I think might have helped is that I cleared 'Cookies' instead of just 'Cache'. I use Arc browser (build on Chromium) and those are two seperate actions

Image

I had previously just been clearing Cache and wasn't getting anywhere, but after clearing Cookies (and trying a bunch of other things I'd already tried) - it worked.

Just leaving this comment here in case that helps anyone else while we wait for the HACS update.
