Installing home_assistant_tgtg as a custom component possible?

Hey all,
I am looking for a way to install this without having to resort to hacs (from what I can tell in the hacs prerequisites, it will not allow for other addons I am already using). From the code it looks like I may be able to pull this in as a custom component (e.g. via the path suggested here).
Does anyone have any experience with this or foresee any issues?

Found out that this is possible. It's fine to manually copy the files to a custom component via the path suggested above.

Steps:

1. Get configuration details as described in readme
2. Copy files from github to custom_components/tgtg
3. Add configuration details as described in readme
4. Restart
