Horizon Zero Dawn crashes when FSR4 is enabled on RDNA3

Symptoms

The game freezes after some time when you use PROTON_FSR4_RDNA3_UPGRADE=1
cachyos-10.0-20250807-slr works without problems

The Finals (2073850) also crash with the following Error:
An Unreal Prrocess has crashed: UE-Discovery

Also works without problems with cachyos-10.0-20250807-slr
But Proton sadly doesn't create a log for this game
But I found the Discovery crashlog, maybe this helps

FSR4_RDNA3 just adds DXIL_SPIRV_CONFIG="wmma_rdna3_workaround" on top of what PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE already does. See if it crashes with PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1. Also I see that you are also enabling XeSS upgrade. Try with one method at a time.

With only PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1: I had a look in the menu and FSR4 was still active, but the game froze immediately when I tried to continue my game.

I forgot to ask, does the game work without the FSR4 upgrade in latest proton-cachyos? I assume you tested it and it does from reading the issue report, but have to make sure.

Also try with DISABLE_LAYER_MESA_ANTI_LAG=1

Sorry, I forgot to mention that it works fine without FSR4.

PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1 & DISABLE_LAYER_MESA_ANTI_LAG=1:
When the Benchmarks starts it freezes for like 20 seconds, after that the benchmark also freezes 2 or 3 times for about half a second. But it doesn't totaly freeze anymore. In the game itself there are no problems.

PROTON_FSR4_RDNA3_UPGRADE=1 & DISABLE_LAYER_MESA_ANTI_LAG=1:
No problems with the benchmark and the game.

Pff, this seems to be a weird interaction with the driver, someone else reported similar issues in another game which where "resolved" by this env variable. To be honest it doesn't make much sense to me, but oh well.

I just checked, problem with The Finals is also gone when I use DISABLE_LAYER_MESA_ANTI_LAG=1

It's a bit weird, because the version before this version of Proton CachyOS was working absolutely fine with both FSR & Antilag 2 enabled.
