Description

My code builds fine. However, whenever I try to run tests (even the simplest one), my computer crashes. Multiple times in a row. And it has been like this for days. I try to update package dependencies, deleting DerivedData, and cleaning the build folder, but it still crashes.

Reproduction

I just click the run test button. My computer crashes. Then, the computer reports the following error (I only show the beginning of the system error):

Resolved, I was using the wrong testing framework

Hi!

My computer crashed again. I commented my test code. However, I suspect that something is still running on the background.
I closed the app, restarted my computer, and I also tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but nothing seems to work.
I also did a Draft PR with my changes that cause the problem and tried to work off a new branch from main (which works fine). It still crashes.

Hi @elsa-bismuth! This could be an error with Xcode's derived data being incorrect. Another thing we can try is clearing out all the Derived Data and Swift Package Manager Cache. You can read more about why/how to do that here. Long story short, Xcode will regenerate these data following the (correct) build and dependency information of your project.

You can clear the caches by running these commands in the terminal:

Swift Package Manager Cache:
rm -rf ~/Library/org.swift.swiftpm
rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/org.swift.swiftpm

Derived Data:
rm -rf ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData

Once you clear the cached data, try opening Xcode again and see what happens!

Hi Nick!
I tried this and it still crashes :(
I cleared all the cached data, then had to reinstall the packages. It then crashed my whole computer again.
I am not sure where the problem is but it prevents me from working :(
