Why is "civil" used to describe inexact time instead of "local" or "plain" or "naive" or something else? #381
-
As a followup to this question i was wondering where does the "civil" word come from? Given that Jiff draws a lot of inspiration from Temporal, why wasnt the naming kept similar for concepts implemented in "civil"? Temporal went with "plain". I'm asking because i find "civil" to be very weird and unintuitive word choice for something that is a local datetime. Intuitively, it feels that either "local" or "plain" would be a better choice. |
