Hi - I'm part of a small non-profit. Currently on the Budibase free plan using native budibase tables. We provide a small range of services for the local homeless and at-risk population.
I organized our data as follows.
We have people and orgs that have various roles. Ie - Sam is a volunteer. Sara is a Donor. Steve is both a Volunteer and Donor. etc with various other roles. We have roughly 50 people that either volunteer, are donors, are clients, etc. Of course we keep some additional data on the people (phone #, email, notes, etc)
We do activities. For example on March 10th Sam & Steve made a meal for the homeless and volunteered 4 hours each. Sara donated $150 of food for this.
To me it seemed the best was to do 2 tables in budibase. One for table people and one table for activities with a many to many relationship between them based on the person.
This worked out great for setting up data. It allows multiple people to work on an activity etc. Data entry is working great.
BUT
Where I'm hitting a blocker is on trying to report on the data. Say I want to know how many volunteer hours each person had per month. I can do the view, I see where I can do the sum of volunteer hours. But I cannot group on the person since that data item in the "people" table. The view doesn't allow this.
Is there a way around this or do I just need to start over and arrange all the data in one table? Maybe trying to make some huge multislect for the people? But, I'm not sure that sounds like a good solution?
