I'm new to DREAM.3D-NX and ran the Small IN100 smooth and Small IN100 quickMeshD3D pipelines. I'm trying to visualize the individual grain boundary mesh—as shown on the DREAM.3D-NX website—using the resulting .xdfm file in ParaView.
However, I'm running into a few issues: If I manage to threshold by Node Type first, I’m unable to apply a second threshold on FeatureID (grain ID) in the next filter—ParaView seems to prevent combining the two. The same issue occurs in reverse: if I threshold by FeatureID first, I can’t then filter by Node Type.
Even if this could be resolved, I’m still unsure whether this approach would let me visualize a complete, watertight surface of an individual grain, since Node Types 2–4 appear to only represent internal grain boundary mesh elements, not the full exterior.
Could someone advise:
(1) How can I visualize the complete meshed surface of a single grain?
(Ideally, with all triangles that make up the grain’s boundary, not just interior interfaces.)
(2) How do I relate Face Labels (e.g., Feature 0 / Feature 1 IDs on each triangle) back to FeatureID or grain labels?
Specifically, how can I isolate all mesh triangles that form the surface of a target grain?
Thanks in advance for any guidance!
Best,
Wenxi
