[Issue][v6.x] Hidden Widget Still Perform Async Operations

**Describe the bug**
It appears that while a widget is still hidden to a user, it can still perform asynchronous operations. Ideally, when a user doesn't have access to a widget, that widget shouldn't be loaded.
