Hey Ben I thought this could be a good place to have a discussion before I start digging in.
My understanding is Damus is using StarScream for its web socket functionality (or at least it was last time I checked). To be honest I am not at all sure how to configure StarScream to work over Tor. I have written my own very simple web socket class which replaces StarScream, I am pretty sure I know what to do to get Tor working with my class.
Do you think removing StarScream would be a PR that they accept upstream?
