DART Installation

Hello,

I'm having trouble with the last part of the DART installation.

If I run the following command bundle exec rake db:schema:load, I get the following error:

rake aborted!
Psych::BadAlias: Cannot load 'Rails.application.database_configuration':
Unknown alias: default

Caused by:
Psych::BadAlias: Unknown alias: default

It worked fine before in a previous project, but it stopped working after I did bundle update cosmos and bundle install.

I did a trace and found out it is coming from the Psych 4.0.3 gem. My working project has only 3.0.2 installed. Anyone have an idea how to resolve this?

Try adding a gem 'psych' , '~> 3.3' to this file: https://github.com/BallAerospace/COSMOS/blob/cosmos4/install/config/dart/Gemfile. You might also have to manually do gem uninstall psych to remove the existing 4.0.3 gem.

Also note that DART is deprecated and is not in COSMOS 5. The same ability is present (reduced data) but the current implementation no longer exists.

I added gem 'psych' , '~> 3.3 and uninstalled the existing 4.0.3 pysch gem. However, after running bundle install, I get the following message:

Bundler could not find compatible versions for gem "psych":
  In Gemfile:
      pysch (~> 3.3)
      
      cosmos was resolved to 4.5.1, which depends on
          rdoc (>= 4) was resolved to 6.4.0, which depends on
              psych (>= 4.0.0)

I'm assuming that there are many dependencies. I might need to downgrade to COSMOS 4.5.0, is there anyway to do that?

I'm currently using COSMOS 4 for my projects and need a database to record my data as shown in DART.

You can follow the same steps for each of these dependencies but I don't know how many you'll run into. I'm sorry we didn't test DART better with the 4.5.1 release. You can install a specific gem version by doing gem install cosmos -v 4.5.0. Alternatively you can figure out the issues with Psych 4 and send us a pull request!
