1.5.3 with or without community patch?

Hey. I'm a new player. Is it worth playing the game at 1.5.3 without community patch? Or do you recommend falling back to 1.5.2? Any timeline on when 1.5.3 will be supported by this wonderful mod?

this patch is what makes the game for me. specifically the perks imo
