Computing with BOINC

David Anderson edited this page Dec 22, 2023 · 46 revisions

BOINC is a platform for 'volunteer computing': using lots and lots of consumer devices (desktops, laptops, tables, phones) to do scientific computing. The goal of BOINC is to give scientists large computing power at small cost.

You can use BOINC Central to process batches of jobs for common science applications (currently Autodock Vina) through a web interface. You don't need to create a BOINC project (or know anything at all about BOINC).

For help with BOINC, post to the BOINC projects email list.
