Cannot upload and download to and from radio

Hi,
I was trying to set up your updated firmware, but after loading the chirp driver, I still couldn't see UV-K5 (AubsUK) model in the upload / download menu. I had the same problem using the egzumer firmware, until I used an older version of the module from git.
Output of "chirp --version": CHIRP next-20240322 on Linux arch 6.8.2-arch2-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu, 28 Mar 2024 17:06:35 +0000 x86_64 (Python 3.11.8)

As long as you've launched CHIRP with the Aubs module loaded, download from radio with UV-K5 as the option. Once you upload back to the radio, it'll show it's the Aubs version.

I tried that, but I am getting "Footer short read" error.

I tried reflashing and downloading again and now it magically works... I don't understand why it didn't work before.

I successfully finished configuring my radio and so far the firmware looks very nice. Thank you for your work!

Great stuff. The only time I've ever had that error has been when the radio isn't connected and I try and upload/download. No idea I'm afraid.
