Glucose units switched, G7 connection lost

Summary: CGM source switched from G7 to Nightscout and glucose units reset, causing a 12-hour data gap until reconnect.

Enviroment:

• Running iAPS 7.0.1 (19)
• iPhone 16/iOS 18.2
• Dexcom G7
• Nightscout also connected (but not selected as source)

Description:

• Glucose units unexpectedly switched from mg/dL to mmol/L and G7 data stopped at 5:47 p.m. for about 12 hours overnight.
• At the same time, CGM setting showed Nightscout instead of G7 (I had not changed it).
• I changed Glucose units back to mg/dL.
• I deleted CGM entry.
• CGM data stalled for ~12 hours until the app reconnected automatically.

Looking at the logs. There latest reading from G7 before the problem started was at 17:47:16-0400.

After that a loop started, which requested a 1.4U bolus and it got enacted.

~30 seconds later, the app was activated and another loop started (manual?). This one was not enacted because "Pump is Busy".

~10 seconds after that, yet another loop was started. Not enacted.

Then the app went to background.

Two minutes later, the treatments were uploaded to NS:

2025-08-19T17:50:28-0400 [Nightscout] ... Treatments uploaded

And then nothing was happening for an hour - no logs at all.

At 19:05:57-0400 the logs continue, one of the messages:

Network status: reachable by WiFi

At 19:08:28-0400 the app goes active -> inactive -> active and then it looks like it restarted:

2025-08-19T19:08:34-0400 [Default] FreeAPSApp.swift - init() - 53 - DEV: iAPS Started: v7.0.1(19) ...

Just posting the timeline, I don't know how/why the sensor type would change from G7 to NS, but it happened within this time window.

Thanks, yurique. I rolled the app back to the previous version in TF and it warned me that doing so would stop auto updates. That made me wonder if the G7 to NS switch occurred at the same time as the glucose units switching — possibly after the most recent update. Then I switched back to the most recent release in TF. You asked in Discord what the CGM screen looked like so I opened it and got a screenshot. Right after that, the CGM connected. Previously I had deleted the CGM and selected G7 but it didn’t reconnect until about 12 hours later.

Also: All the Configuration settings remained, but Auto ISF was deselected and those settings are gone.
