I found driver here: https://launchpad.net/~thierry-f/+archive/ubuntu/fork-michael-gruz You might need to install it's driver. Or I went to: Then I select: ![]() And there is: ![]() |

Thank you for this helpful email. Unfortuntately, i have followed steps and
i get errors. I get lots of different errors saying
Error: The repository '
https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/thierry-f/fork-michael-gruz/ubuntu plucky
Release' does not have a Release file.
Notice: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is
therefore disabled by default.
Notice: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user
configuration details.
Also its say it cnnot find the "sudo apt install cnijfilter2=6.81-2404B"
I have tried everything else on your list.
Im really not having much luck, its a shame as i love this version so much.
Thank you

Step 1: Add the Printer Driver PPA
Run these commands in your terminal to add the PPA repository containing
Canon printer drivers:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:thierry-f/fork-michael-gruz
sudo apt update
------------------------------
Step 2: Install the Canon Printer Drivers
The Canon TR4651 printer uses the cnijfilter2 driver. Install it by
running:
sudo apt install cnijfilter2
If this doesn't work directly, you can specify the latest package
explicitly:
sudo apt install cnijfilter2=6.81-2404B
------------------------------
Step 3: Restart CUPS (Common Unix Printing System)
Restart the printing service to ensure the driver is properly loaded:
sudo systemctl restart cups
------------------------------
Step 4: Add and Configure Your Printer
- Open your printer settings (this is typically available in the
system settings or by typing system-config-printer in a terminal).
- Click *Add Printer*.
- Select *Network Printer* and your Canon TR4651 should appear. Choose
it, then proceed.
- Choose the driver manually if requested: select *Canon* > *TR4600
Series* driver.
------------------------------
Troubleshooting
If your printer still doesn't connect, ensure:
- Your computer and printer are on the same wireless network.
- There's no firewall blocking the printer (try temporarily disabling
any firewall).
You can also try installing additional tools:
sudo apt install cups-backend-bjnp
sudo systemctl restart cups
Then repeat the printer setup.
Have a try

Since there are many complaints about printers, I’m considering embedding the printer-driver-all package in the image. However, this would increase the image size by about 100 MB. Could you please try running: sudo apt install printer-driver-all And see if the problem is mitigated? This helps the decision. |
