zinit users - how do you schedule compinit call?

As a zinit user, I find it rather difficult to make sure compinit & -reply are invoked at appropriate time, as so many of the plugins have dependency on each other & compinit.
For instance:

1. fzf-tab:

2. fzf-tab needs to be loaded after compinit, but before plugins which will wrap widgets, such as zsh-autosuggestions or fast-syntax-highlighting
3. Completions should be configured before compinit, as stated in the zsh-completions manual installation guide.

2. unsure about zdharma-continuum/fast-syntax-highlighting:

zinit wait lucid for
atinit"ZINIT[COMPINIT_OPTS]=-C; zicompinit; zicdreplay"
zdharma-continuum/fast-syntax-highlighting

3. zoxide

For completions to work, the above line must be added after compinit is called
