@buzmccullough, The libcamera team said the old names would go away "sometime in the future". I was surprised they removed the names so quickly - normally old names are left around for a couple years. I don't think that team is as "user friendly" as they should be. They've made other non-announced changes in the past that have broken things. |

I recently told the Raspi OS to do an update and upgrade. The result was my HQ camera stopped working in Allsky software. The reason according to Raspberry Pi, is the changes to the OS deleted the libcamera symbolic links to the rpicam commands. I tried recreating the symbolic links and they work in the terminal, but do not fix the problem with the Allsky software. I was told to reinstall the last OS before the update, upgrade, then reinstall the Allsky software. I am attempting that today. They said the onous is on me or the Allsky software programmers to reprogram the software to not use the libcamera commands, instead use the rpicam commands.
