Problems Upgrading to latest version

I was using an old version a year ago and came back to Allsky after a year and obtaining an HQ camera. Updated my RPi 3 fully then followed the steps to upgrade keeping the old version under allsky-old. Tried several times and get a message no camera detected even though I've been using it and camera shows with libcamera. Tried to access and I get the message "ERROR: Unable to process settings file '/home/rob/allsky/config/settings.json'. File /home/rob/allsky/config/settings.json not found! "

I'm still a complete novice with RPi, any help appreciated!

Please do the following:

cd
rm -fr allsky
git clone --branch v2024.12.06_04 --depth=1 --recursive https://github.com/AllskyTeam/allsky.git
cd allsky
## make sure the prior version of Allsky is called  allsky-OLD  not  allsky-old
./install.sh

IF you have any problems, run:

./support.sh

and upload the support file it creates.

Interesting, this command is failing:
timeout 10 libcamera-still --timeout 1 --nopreview

Please run it manually. Assuming it fails, run
libcamera-still --timeout 1 --nopreview.

That will likely also fail, so run libcamera-hello.

If these fail, it's not an Allsky problem but something else, probably related to the Raspberry config and/or legacy mode.

Now it works. I need to add the line „cma=256M“ to the config.txt.

I am glad you got it working.
I will put your fix in the Allsky Documentation FAQ since I am pretty sure other people have seen the same Unable to request 4 buffers: Cannot allocate memory ERROR: *** failed to allocate capture capture buffers *** error.

I will close this Discussion item since your and @Fornaxtwo's problems are resolved.

Sorry for the late reply Eric, yes all worked perfectly after following your re installation instructions, I still have the problem of my location, I’ll reply on #4667
