Where is the 'Log' ?

Hello All,

New user here. I had the camera in a box for some time and powered it up again. Web interface showed this message.

WARNING: 'data.json' is 8 days old.
Check Allsky log file if 'postData.sh' has been running successfully at the end of nighttime.

Where do I find 'Allsky log' on the RPI?

I assume you are not running the latest version of Allsky? That not-very-useful message was replaced by one that tells you to run allsky-config check_post_data which helps troubleshoot the problem.

Instead, run postData.sh and see what it tells you. You can also run grep ERROR /var/log/allsky.log to check for other errors.

Yes, I am still in the testing / learning / deployment process and it happens quite often that I turn off / let sit in the box for few days / reboot the RPI. When it then came back online I got the above message. I don't think myself it is critical, just wondering if there is a simple click for me on user-level to make the error-pop-up disappear.

Understand. I have several Pi's for testing, and they are almost always powered on, but may or may not be running Allsky, so I also see the message you're seeing. Or a Pi is inside and if the lights are on at night, I get a lot of messages about the images being too bright.

To get rid of the message, just run postData.sh then refresh the browser window.

postData.sh is automatically run at the end of every night, but if your Pi is powered off then, you'll see the message after a couple days.
