Allsky config.sh wiped options to recover

After hundreds of great nights of allsky, tonight it didn't start. My config.sh was wiped clean!

How could this happen ? I did not back up this file. Is my only option to re-install?

I don't remember all the settings that I optimized in my original install back in 2023.

What version of Allsky are you running?
Is your Pi accessible on the Internet?
Is your camera on the Allsky Map?

This also just happened to me. My config.sh is completely empty. Allsky has been up and running flawlessly for a couple of months but today when when I was to open the configuration site I get a blank page saying this:

'Camera Type' not defined in config.sh. Please update it.

When I open config.sh it's empty, file size 1 byte.

I'm running Allsky v2023.05.01_05. My Pi is accessible over the Internet with admin password, it's not on the Allsky Map.

Allsky still runs as it should producing image material every night. My plan is to upgrade to v2024 now when the astronomical nights ends here in April so I will just let Pi run until I take it down for the summer season. Just thought I should tell you guys this if you want me to check something before I upgrade.

If you haven't modified config.sh, please run ls -l ~/allsky/config.sh so we can see when it was last modified.
How long have you been on v2023.05.01_05 ?

Eric, it was modified on Feb 22. I've been on v2023.05.01_05 for the entire winter season, so since September 2024.

Just realized something. My empty config file is in ~/allsky/config/config.sh, is that the correct location? Since you wrote "ls -l ~/allsky/config.sh" I was looking for a config.sh in ~/allsky but couldn't find any.

You are correct about the location. It's been over a year since I last used a "config.sh" file, so I forgot where it was.

We fixed the bug that allowed config.sh to be corrupted. Please upgrade to v2024.12.06_03.
