As I said, I'm a relative newbie to this, so can you give more explicit details? Ifconfig returns (amongst other things) this:
And the dhcpcd.conf file has this section, which is presumably the section I need to uncomment and edit (right?):
So I'm guessing that I change "eth0" to "wlan" and set my chosen IP address, but I'm not sure what I would enter for the "static ip6_address," "static routers" and "static domain_name_servers:" lines. Thanks for the help and your patience! -Paul |

I'm a relative newbie to the hardware and software, but it seems that each time I reattach the camera to power and it reboots it gets assigned a new IP address by my school, and unless I'm mistaken the only way I can see that address is to attach a monitor to the Raspberry Pi and look it up with iconfig, but dragging a monitor and mouse and keyboard to the camera is a pain. Is there any way to a) assign a static IP to the camera every time it connects back to power and reboots or b) check what the camera's IP address is remotely? Thanks in advance.
