warping off on y-axis on Hyprland

on Monitor DP-1, overlay shows up correctly but after typing in the hint, the x-axis is in the right place but the mouse goes all the way to the top

on Monitor DP-3, overlay shows up correctly but after typing in the hint, the x-axis is in the right place but the y-axis is off depending on the location. Offset is lower towards the bottom and increases as location of hint moves up the monitor.

changing configs to this, things works as expected on monitor DP-1, but hints don't show up for monitor DP-3 anymore

I experienced some starange behaviour on Hyperland as well with the mouse and for a while I could not figure out what it was, but I did get it working.

So check for these things:

Make sure you have a 0,0 location. And that one of your monitors is at 0,0. I have noticed that hyprland let's you place monitors at any location and that could throw things off. For example look at this:

Notice how e-DP1 is not at 0,0 but rather at 0,180.

Also if you have gaps in between the monitors that could also throw things off.

If that's not your issue:

Everytime you change your monitor setup, the hintsd service should be reloading to accommodate the new resolution. But you can try forcing it incase it does not by restarting the daemon.

If that does not help, then maybe there is a bug somewhere. I can try to recreat it when I get some time. Do you have 2 or 3 monitors? I have only tried it on 2 monitors Max.

Also if you can help me visualize your setup with a screenshot from wdisplays or something similar that would be great.

monitor is stacked on top of each other, with DP-1 being on top and DP-3 being at the bottom. With the vertical offset of -1440 being set for DP-1 (top monitor)

I did manage to get hint working as expect after swapping the offset to DP-3 (bottom monitor) with below config

monitor=DP-3,preferred,0x1440,auto,bitdepth,10
monitor=DP-1,preferred,0x0,auto,bitdepth,10, transform, 2

My assumption is that hints doesn't play well if the offset is being set on the primary monitor. In my case it's DP-1 with ID of 0.
