[Enhancement]: Exclude files from ALS without excluding from build process

Enhancement Request

I have a 100MB generated source file which causes ALS to consume 40GB of memory. It would be useful to have a way to tell ALS to never look at this file.

That is an interesting enhancement request. It would be nice to have a bit more information.

Is the generated source file a spec or a body?

Have you tried configuring the ALS setting enableIndexing to false ? Does it reduce memory usage when the large file is not opened?

Then if the large file is opened, do you observe high memory consumption again?

It's a body and it's never been opened in my editor that's using ALS. I'm not actually sure what triggers the increase in memory usage as today it's stayed under 2GB while working on the same project. Indexing does get stuck, presumably on that file, but there's no CPU usage or memory increase.

That's an interesting use-case, we'll create an internal issue do discuss it. Maybe we can add a setting that accepts a list of glob pattern or simple filenames, that should be excluded from indexing/analysis.
